Dee Hodgkiss began her business, Creative Interiors, in 1980 in Canton, Ohio.  Her specialty was and remains designing and selling custom window treatments, bed ensembles, and related fabric accessories for the residential customer.  Word of her expertise spread quickly and for the next 15 years she not only had a following in Canton but in Akron and Cleveland.  Due to her client’s demands, Dee’s expertise grew to include wall coverings, paint selections, furnishings and accessories.  Additionally, her reputation for creativity, suited to a client’s personal taste while working within a controlled budget, also aided in the growth of her business.  Dee credits this to the fact that she has remained a free lance designer which provides her with the opportunity to offer the best value to her customers without the restrictions or overhead associated with an affiliated store.    

Early in her design career, Dee also gained experience while working in a family owned ceramic tile and marble business where she became well-versed in kitchen and bath design.  During this time, she assisted other designers and contractors with their client’s needs using tile and natural stone products such as granite and marble for counter tops, flooring, and fireplaces. 

In 1996 Dee relocated to Findlay, Ohio where her business continued to expand and flourish. Networking in northwestern Ohio she quickly built a solid client base, while working in both the residential and commercial markets.   

In 2004, another relocation landed Dee in Columbus, Ohio where she is currently located.  Dee continues to work with previous customers who have remained loyal to her personalized style of business, but she is now focusing on establishing a new customer base within the greater Columbus market. Using the same simple but effective basic business philosophy of helping her clients to achieve their decorating goals according to their taste and budget, her customer focused business continues to expand.  Her unique personalized approach creates a friendly and pleasant experience that continues to have customers returning for their decorating needs year after year.  She strives to leave her clients with the feeling that their “house” has become their “home” upon completion of a decorating project.
